Just before going to bed I decided out of the blue to watch a movie, I've never see Ratatouille and have always wanted to, but have also always managed to forget. So went for it.
Man it's hilarious!
It's also really meaningful. There was a scene after Collete had taught Linguini the ABCs around the kitchen.
- Collete: Thank you, too.
- Linguini: For what?
- Collete: For taking it.
Lots of lessons are taught everywhere and frankly anywhere. On the street, walking up the stairs, looking out the window, standing in line waiting for the ATM, literally anywhere.
(For taking it) Those were the words she used. Thank you for "taking" my advice.
You have to want to "take" the lesson, you have to actually want to absorb it.
I mean, imagine putting a drop of water on a peice of plastic, nothing happens. But take the very same drop and put it onto a peice of tissue, its absorbed instantly, the drop becomes a part of the tissue.
Same thing with life, it's always handing you over all sorts of things to learn. You just have to open your eyes and be willing to accept and TAKE what it's got to offer.
You just reminded me of it! i, too have always wanted to see it yet i never managed to find time for it.
